Sabrina Mezzaqui (Bologna, 1964) studied at the State Institute of Art in Bologna and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, where she graduated in 1993. She is one of the most famous and appreciated Italian artists in Italy and abroad. She creates her work with simple materials of domestic use, such as paper, fabric, threads and beads, with an intensely evocative, fairy-tale flavour. Writing and reading are the basis of many of her pieces that explore the word in its emotional, cognitive and aesthetic aspects.

Sabrina takes part to Art Bag  Alphanumerico with Partiture (Musical Scores) in which delicate flowering branches appear instead of notes on a musical score. The musical notation underlines the poetic and temporal dimension peculiar to her work, based on the recovery of practices where time, slowness, small repeated gestures and the silent sharing of manual work become added values. Sabrina Mezzaqui lives and works in Marzabotto, Bologna.
