RICCARDO GUARNERI (Florence 1933) began painting in 1953. His first studies on abstraction are placed in the informal area. The first solo exhibition was in The Hague in 1960. In 1962 he became interested in colour as light and in problems relating to visual perception. From this moment on, sign, light and colour are one in his work. He co-founded the T 3 group , together with which identified as the third wave of abstract painting after geometric abstraction and informal art. His works are placed in the fields of aniconic and analytical painting. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 1966, at the Paris Biennale in 1967 in the section “New Proposals “, At the Rome Quadriennale of 1973. His works are found in various museums of modern and contemporary art both Italian and foreign. In 2000 he realized the project for a mosaic of 24 square meters in the “Lucio Sestio” station of Rome’s underground. He took part in two Venice International Art Biennials, in 1966 and 2017.
